Can we teach the west how to live sustainably?

When we discussed sustainable living with Muslims in East London, many of them said, 'That was the way we used to live back home'. The ecological footprint of the Muslim world is far less than that of the Northern developed nations. Some ecologists have suggested that the developed world has much to learn from Muslim cultures about sustainable living. Here's your chance to teach the rest of the world how to live sustainably. Write in the box your memories / tips / the things you remember learning from your elders about avoiding waste, conserving energy, water etc. If you are an elder yourself, please write in whatever you can remember, and we will post all your information on our website for the rest of the world to see.
