CLEAN MEDINA CAMPAIGN
Birmingham, UK

Essentially this project is to get the Green Jihad underway in Birmingham and clean up the inner city and predominantly Muslim areas.

We take the jihad to the streets, litter picking. It’s the mindset of the Muslim young we are targeting, making cleaning up and greening up the smart and exciting thing to do. Our film “Clean Medina” was shown on our local Birmingham satellite Noor TV. The film has caused considerable debate getting people to talk and think about the issue. We’ve had some pretty feisty and sometimes hilarious operations from Mosque to Mosque. Enjoy the continuing Jihad! Next we’ll have prancing, dancing, chanting groups of street dervishes and mujahiddin litter picking all over town. It’s a campaign! It’s a film! It’s jihad!

Jihad is an Arabic word which means to struggle for a good cause. It is recognized by all Muslims that the Blessed Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) defined he greater Jihad (Jihad al-akbar) as the one whereby we struggle against our weaknesses and failings. The lesser Jihad is the one whereby Muslims are sometimes called upon to defend their homeland and sovereignty from agression. War indeed. As the famous song pleads "Oh Lord! please don't let me be misunderstood!" To which Muslims may well respond with a resounding. "Amin"
